In April, Indian crude imports hit an all-time high as refineries turned to west Asia and Russia. More over 4.8 million barrels of petroleum a day are being imported by India in April, with 5% of it coming from Russia. Iraq remains a major supplier with 1,300,000 barrels per day. Kazakhstan is supplying us with 970, 000 barrels. We are importing our 80 % of the total crude requirements from Middle East . Because of these imports, our valuable foreign foreign exchange is drained; but, if we start to adopt biofuels, we may indeed try to minimize this valuable foreign exchange drain, so preserving both our environment and our valuable foreign exchange.
